IT4LIA AI Factory will be an institutional partner of AI, HPC & Quantum, the annual event organized by E4 Computer Engineering that on October 8th brings to Rome, at Spazio Field – Palazzo Brancaccio, the European and international ecosystem of artificial intelligence, HPC supercomputing and quantum computing.
A special partner: E4 Computer Engineering
The partnership with E4 is no coincidence: the company is in fact among the leading players of the new European AI Factories, having been awarded the integration of the IT4LIA supercomputer in Italy and MeluXina-AI in Luxembourg, two of the most advanced AI infrastructures on the continent. A direct link between those who build computing capacity and those who put it at the service of enterprises, public administration and research.
A day of strategic vision, insights and networking
The event unfolds across several moments: opening keynotes, delivered by internationally renowned figures sharing their strategic vision; parallel sessions, where industry experts explore the key themes of today’s technology landscape; the Partner Expo area, for direct engagement with the market’s leading players; and a networking lunch, designed as an opportunity to meet the day’s protagonists and experts.
The roundtable: “IT4LIA AI Factory in Action”
At 11:30 am, in Sala Cray, IT4LIA AI Factory will take center stage in the roundtable “IT4LIA AI Factory in Action: how Italy’s AI Factory enables enterprises”, moderated by Tonia Cartolano (Sky TG24). A multi-voice discussion tracing the journey of Italy’s AI Factory: from the European governance that made its creation possible, to the computing infrastructure behind it, to two success stories told firsthand — one from public administration, one from a startup.
On stage:
- Sanzio Bassini – Technical Scientific Coordinator, IFAB / Senior Advisory, CINECA
- Gabriella Scipione – Director of HPC Department, CINECA
- Matteo Angelinelli – HPC Data Engineer CINECA; COO, IT4LIA AI Factory
- Massimo Fedeli – Director of the Department for the Development of Methods and Technologies for the Production and Dissemination of Statistical Information, ISTAT
- Arturo Catalano Gonzaga – CEO and CTO, Glassless
The IT4LIA corner in the Partner Expo area
Throughout the day, an IT4LIA AI Factory corner will also be available in the Partner Expo area, where visitors can meet the team and get information on how to access compute hours and the AI Factory’s services.
Poster session and the closing keynote by Luciano Floridi
E4’s Poster Session also returns this year, giving researchers the chance to present projects and results in artificial intelligence, HPC supercomputing and quantum computing to a qualified audience. An independent scientific-technical committee will select 6 projects, which will be awarded computing hours on E4’s Chiron Lab platform; the project with the best evaluations will also receive an NVIDIA DGX SPARK.
The day will close with a visionary keynote by Luciano Floridi, one of the most authoritative contemporary philosophers of artificial intelligence and digital ethics. A professor at Yale University and founder of the Digital Ethics Center, he has taught at Oxford — contributing to the founding of the Oxford Internet Institute — and currently teaches at the University of Bologna; since 2025 he has also served as President of the Fondazione Leonardo and President of the International Scientific Board of IFAB Foundation. His talk will offer a reflection on artificial intelligence as a profound transformation of how we experience time, relationships and the value of our actions.
