Italian Excellence in Computer Vision Comes to Trento: IT4LIA AI Factory Supports CVTS 2026

On May 20th, the Bruno Kessler Foundation hosts the third edition of the Computer Vision Trento Symposium — a strategic event bridging cutting-edge research and market opportunities.

On May 20th, 2026, Trento becomes the beating heart of Italian Computer Vision research. The Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) will host the third edition of the Computer Vision Trento Symposium (CVTS), bringing together scientists, researchers, students, professionals and enthusiasts united by a shared passion for artificial vision. IT4LIA AI Factory is among the key players of this edition, helping to build a concrete bridge between academic excellence and industry.

A World-Class Programme

CVTS 2026 features a particularly rich edition: 19 scientific papers accepted at CVPR 2026, the world’s leading Computer Vision conference, taking place in Denver from June 3rd to 7th, will be presented in preview in Trento. A unique opportunity to get an early look at the algorithms and technologies that will drive industrial innovation in the years ahead.
The day is structured around six technical sessions covering the most current topics in the field:

  • Generative AI and realistic scene synthesis
  • 3D representations
  • Vision-Language Models applications and grounded reasoning
  • Model bias and safety
  • Interpretability and transfer learning

Keynote by Francesco Siddi (Blender)

Francesco Siddi, CEO of Blender, will open the event with a keynote address exploring how the synergy between the open-source approach and community-driven development is reshaping technological paradigms across multiple industrial sectors related to 3D modelling, a concrete example of how open research and open standards can transform entire productive ecosystems.

The Role of IT4LIA AI Factory

Thanks to the support of IT4LIA AI Factory, CVTS 2026 will offer dedicated networking moments, designed to spark connections between the research community and the concrete challenges of industry. This reflects IT4LIA’s core mission: accelerating the transfer of artificial intelligence technologies into the Italian productive fabric.
