On 9–10 June 2026, Brussels hosts the EDIH Summit 2026 – Strengthening the AI Innovation Ecosystem. IT4LIA AI Factory will be there, as part of Europe’s strategic AI infrastructure and as a reference point for organisations ready to move from AI ambition to AI reality. This event is not just about those already building with AI. It is about those who cannot afford to fall behind.
What is the EDIH Summit 2026 and why it matters for European AI
The EDIH Summit 2026 is the flagship annual event of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) network. It brings together EU institutions, Member States, AI Factories, Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) and regulatory sandboxes to examine how Europe’s AI ecosystem works in practice — and how proven approaches can be scaled across regions and sectors.
For SMEs, startups, public administrations and research institutions, this ecosystem is not institutional background noise. It is the concrete infrastructure that lowers barriers to AI adoption, reduces risk and provides qualified access to world-class computational resources and expertise.
The organisations that start today are building the competitive advantage of the next five years. Those still watching are falling behind.
IT4LIA at the AI Factories Workshop
IT4LIA AI Factory will be represented by Andrea Margheri, Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale and Claudio Arlandini, CINECA.
Arlandini, our project leader will participate in Workshop 2: AI Factories – foster collaboration and innovation, on 9 June 2026 from 16:15 to 17:30, as part of the Parallel Sessions.
The workshop brings together representatives from Europe’s leading AI Factories to explore how these infrastructures collaborate with ecosystem actors — EDIHs, TEFs and regulatory sandboxes — to accelerate the transition from interest to real AI projects. The focus is not on hype: it is on concrete outcomes, governance, scalability and replicability.
IT4LIA’s participation confirms its role as a national and European reference point for advanced AI adoption — an infrastructure designed so that no organisation has to make the leap into AI alone.
Europe’s AI ecosystem: EDIHs, AI Factories and TEFs explained
Europe’s AI ecosystem is built on three complementary pillars working together to support businesses, startups, public administrations and research institutions:
European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) are the local access points to digital innovation. They offer testing, training and financial guidance to organisations looking to adopt advanced digital technologies, including AI.
AI Factories, including IT4LIA AI Factory, provide European-grade HPC (High Performance Computing) infrastructure for training and running advanced AI models. They are the computational engine of the ecosystem — Europe’s sovereign answer to dependence on US hyperscalers.
Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) and regulatory sandboxes complete the picture, offering controlled environments to validate AI solutions in specific sectors — manufacturing, healthcare, finance, public administration — before production deployment.
Together, these instruments enable Italian and European organisations to adopt AI in a secure, guided and sovereign way: with expert support at every step, not alone.
