The course is designed for entrepreneurs, managers, and professionals who wish to understand the opportunities offered by Artificial Intelligence and begin a practical adoption journey within their organizations. It combines a first day focused on strategic insights with a second day dedicated to hands-on workshop activities. The objective of the course is to provide participants with the tools, methodology, and vision needed to transform Artificial Intelligence from a topic of interest into a concrete driver of innovation and business competitiveness.
Course Content and Programme
Day 1 – Foundations and Market Landscape (6 hours, classroom-based)
The first day takes a lecture-based approach and provides a comprehensive strategic overview. Topics include:
- The AI landscape for businesses: evolution, trends, and relevant use cases for SMEs;
- Overview of the main generative AI systems currently available on the market (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, and others), including a comparison of basic and advanced functionalities;
- Characteristics, advantages, and limitations of locally hosted (on-premises) models compared to cloud-based solutions, with a focus on data sovereignty, costs, and compliance;
- Introduction to Agentic AI: what autonomous agents are, how they differ from traditional generative AI, and the use cases they enable;
- Governance and adoption: roles, risks, AI policies, and the fundamental principles of the European regulatory framework (AI Act);
- Review of real-world use cases across different industries and business functions.
Day 2 – As-Is / To-Be Workshop (6 hours, hands-on)
The second day is a guided operational workshop during which each participating company, working in parallel with the support of the trainers, is assisted in identifying a first concrete AI use case. The workshop structure includes:
- Mapping business processes and identifying the areas with the highest transformation potential;
- As-is analysis of the selected process: inputs, outputs, stakeholders, and critical issues;
- To-be redesign of the process through the integration of AI components, assessing feasibility, expected impact, and risks;
- Prioritization of the use case according to objective criteria (impact, effort, risk, and reusability);
